Prof. em. Hans-Peter Meier-Dallach

Hans-Peter Meier-Dallach is Professor Emeritus. He has been a member oft the board oft he World Society Foundation since 1982 and was its president between 2002 and 2007. He is a Swiss sociologist who connected his academic activities at universities with the institute Culture Prospectiv and the international network World Drives Association founded by himself. He has directed various research projects dedicated to problems of regions, cities, and culture, including global societal processes. He collaborated with transnational networks and scholars in Eastern European countries and in the newly independent Visegrade countries after 1990. His publications include Postsocialist Transformations and Civil Society in a Globalizing World (2002, with Jakob Juchler). He served as curator of projects mediating cultural studies addressing public audiences by exhibitions, for instance Zurich in World Society (Zurich, Switzerland, 2007), 900 Years of Future (Mehrerau, Austria, 1999), and Territoire imaginaire in Switzerland’s national exposition expo02 (Bienne, Switzerland, 2002).
